Have you heard my new album?

It’s out now, it’s a similar sound to earlier years but with some new riffs and a couple of excellent new folks harmonising in the band too.

Actually, that’s crap. I can’t sing, dance or play a note for toffee. I occassionally let rip to a bit of Queen in the car or Divine Comedy walking the dog. But I am in a band.

It’s an amazing band. None of us play an intrument on stage though.

My business just hit the 10 year milestone. It was amazing fun as we not only reminisced about the rocky road starting out, the growth, that dodgy third album then bouncing back on a live tour again. Some people have left the band over the years, new folks have joined us and the only constant is change. Tell a lie, it’s change and trying hard to do better.

The band, if you didn’t know it, is the amazing team at Hashtag Events . I usually take lead but happy to let others chip in with tracks on the album. Steven J Innes takes a lot of the lead vocals, Geoff Nicholson bangs in our steady dependable pace on bass and Gavin Belton-Rose plays rythym guitar, alternating between an soft accoustic sensible set and thrashing away on a solo. Together, we’re making music. Each season is a new album. Each show, a track off the latest release.

The people who back us up on vocals, merch and logistics are our exhibitors, our speakers and the fans (the dedicated delegates) who support us fiercely and for whom we are deeply appreciative.

Guest lead “artiste” Stefan Thomas who has a great solo project, people like Colin McKeand who guests on vocals and tin penny whistle in Scotland, Sam Rathling who is beating a fearsome drum, Estelle Keeber sorting out our PR and keeping us going in the right direction. Chris Glynn making sure he, and in turn we, are always visible, Thomas Haywood keeping us in focus and on point, Simon Washbrook with his steely silent assasin progress on works yet to see light but we know are f~@king epic!

Top shout out though is to my tour manager on this journey. My beautiful wife Sarah Stewart. She’ll tell me when the album sucks. She’ll give me a hug. Then she will tell me to get back in the studio and record again.
